The Advocacy Program is our opportunity to help those that face astronomical medical bills. Our volunteer advocates use their negotiating skills to reduce your medical bills. Here you'll find the most current data on the substantial effectiveness of this program. Please consider becoming a RESCU ADVOCATE VOLUNTEER!
RESCU Foundation recognizes that sometimes, with illness, comes emotional trauma. We have a PhD counselor available to help with adjusting to such difficulties. For more information, please contact us at:
The disbursement program is designed for immediate effectiveness. Once RESCU receives a COMPLETED aid request from, a panel of no less than four trusted members evaluate whether funds are better used to assist in advocacy or as direct financial aid. Each case is weighed by severity of condition, urgency of need, depth in community, and other factors from the aid form. Although we try to assist as much as possible, our funding does not allow us to cover every medical bill submitted. Some clients do receive numerous disbursements, but the majority of the cases are one time assistance. The disbursement committee meets bi-monthly, allowing for response and action to occur within 30 days.
We are proud to have brought to our community the American Heart Association training program. Our first class at the Florida Renaissance Festival in 2007, was led by David Epley in cooperation with the Miami Township Fire/Rescue. Since then, 48 people have been certified or re-certified in First Aid and both Adult and Child CPR through the effort of bringing the training to the faire site. The higher the percentage of trained responders in a community, the greater the chance of survival of a person in an emergency situation. We want to continue our training, but need your help.
We are looking for local partnerships to expand this program, if you have First Aid / CPR training or know of an existing program near one of the faires/festivals, please contact us at:
